Johnson and Votava Recognized for 2025 Top Settlement in Missouri

The Pair Represented the Victim of a Truck Collision

Votava and Johnson’s confidential trucking collision claim, which settled for $23 million, was the seventh-highest settlement in the state last year. It was reached just weeks before trial in Missouri State Court.

In the case, Votava and Johnson represented a 29-year-old Missouri man who suffered permanent brain injury and major limb and facial fractures after a November 2022 motor vehicle collision with a tractor-trailer. Their client was traveling on southbound Highway 13 when he collided with a truck turning left into the northbound lane. Married just 20 days before the accident, the firm’s client will permanently require 24-hour care in a long-term residential facility.
