Attorney Brice Barnard is a Kansas City native. He received his undergraduate degree from Texas Christian University before moving back home to earn his law degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. Prior to joining VNJ Law, Brice worked as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Missouri at the Platte County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, where he focused on prosecuting violent felony offenders and supervising Platte County’s Mental Health Court treatment program.

Brice grew his passion for courtroom practice by taking several jury trials to verdict while at the prosecutor’s office. He also served as the main author and supervising attorney for the creation of Platte County’s first diversion program, Platte CARES (Community Alternative with Restorative and Educational Services), which provides second-chance opportunities for low-risk offenders through specialized education and treatment plans.

Brice currently serves on the Missouri Bar YLS Council as the American Bar Association YLD Liaison. He is the chair of the YLS Continuing Education Committee for the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and serves as a mentor for KCMBA’s Student Leadership Academy. He is also a member of the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys.

Before entering the legal field, Brice spent time acting and performing on stage, which gave him the skills and motivation to pursue his dream of becoming a trial lawyer. He now uses the courtroom as his stage to zealously advocate for justice on behalf of VNJ clients in many areas of civil litigation, with an emphasis on serious personal injury, wrongful death, and medical malpractice.

Outside the office, Brice spends his time traveling around the globe with his wife and expanding his knowledge of the human condition. He also enjoys rooting for Kansas City sports teams.
