The parents of a girl who suffered permanent injuries at birth reached multiple settlements totaling $12,875,000 with the hospital where she was born and the federal government. 

A 50-year old mother and nurse died in the hospital from infection following gastric bypass surgery.  A bowel perforation went undiagnosed for several days.  The jury returned a verdict in the family’s favor.

A baby was infected with herpes during delivery.  The doctor failed to check for herpes sores prior to delivery which would have led him to deliver the baby by c-section.  Shortly after delivery, a nurse noticed the open herpes sore on the baby.  By the time the baby was treated with anti-viral medicine, she already suffered permanent damage to her brain and nervous system. 

A 33-year old mother went to the ER three times with abdominal pain and vomiting with a history of kidney stones.  She was sent home with pain medication the first two times before being admitted to the hospital.  The next day, imaging studies showed a kidney infection that required amputation of her arm, toes and several fingers.

A man underwent sinus surgery.  During surgery, the doctor punctured bones in his eye socket and permanent blinded the patient in one eye.

A baby was injured during delivery by c-section.  The doctor lacerated the baby’s liver and fractured his skull using forceps resulting in neurologic injury.

A mother went to the ER with numbness and tingling.  A chest x-ray was ordered and read by a doctor who found a small spot of cancer in her left lung.  No one told her about the lung cancer until three years later and after she was diagnosed with terminal cancer, dying soon thereafter.  A jury returned a verdict in the family’s favor.

An oxygen supply company failed to provide requested oxygen supplement tanks to a man suffering from COPD.

A war veteran suffered permanent burns to his back and buttocks after undergoing a series of surgical procedures using interventional radiology.
